Marc Bäckman

Marc Bäckman has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Marc started their career in 1999 as a Process Operator and Supervisor at Pharmacia & Upjohn, where they were responsible for packaging and labeling ampoules and vials. Marc later became a Manager of Visual Inspection and Aftertreatment, overseeing a team of process operators and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

In 2006, Marc joined Octapharma as a Manager in the Labelling and Packaging department. Marc was promoted to Head of the department in 2008, leading a team of 24 staff members and two managers. Marc was responsible for meeting budget, quality, and production goals, and making employment and staffing decisions.

In 2014, Marc transitioned to the role of Project Manager, coordinating transfer activities for a corporate project centralizing visual inspection activities across multiple sites. Marc later became the Head of Bio1 Recombinant Protein Purification, managing a department of 28 staff members and two managers, and overseeing performance and development.

Since 2018, Marc has been serving as the Head of Pharmaceutical Production at Octapharma, leading a team of approximately 120 employees across three sections. Their responsibilities include final formulation, sterile filtration, aseptic filling, and the final treatment of products.

Throughout their career, Marc has demonstrated strong leadership skills, meeting goals, ensuring compliance, and driving performance.

Marc Bäckman attended Stockholm University from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business Administration and Economics.
