James Giraldo

James Giraldo joined Octogone Group as a partner in 2014 and is currently based in Miami.

He started his career at Chase Asset Management in New York as a portfolio manager and a member of the investment policy committee for institutional and private banking clients. He was sent to Switzerland and became the Senior Investment Officer for Latin America and Southern Europe as well as running US Dollar strategy. After that he joined the investment boutique Guyerzeller Bank with USD 31 Billion under management as head of Latin America and in charge of building their institutional and asset management business in the region. When Guyerzeller Bank was acquired by HSBC he was made Business Sector head and Managing Director for the Southern Cone for HSBC in Latin America.

James is currently taking courses in Sustainable Finance and Impact Investing at Harvard University. He is a passionate student of the global economy, markets and their relevance to the design of investment strategies.
