Trent Mohay is a Senior Software Engineer at Octopus Deploy. Trent has over 19 years of experience in the software industry, working in a variety of roles including software consultant, team lead, and development manager.

Trent began their career as a software developer at BAE Systems in 2001. Trent worked their way up through the company, eventually becoming a software development manager. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of developers and overseeing the development process from start to finish.

In 2016, Trent left BAE Systems to join the National Safety Agency as a software development manager. Trent was responsible for managing a team of developers who worked on a variety of projects, including upgrades to a biomedical device. During their time at the National Safety Agency, Trent successfully delivered $1M worth of software to schedule and budget (+/- 5%).

In 2018, Trent left the National Safety Agency to join ConsenSys as a blockchain protocol developer. In this role, they were responsible for designing and delivering features for the Pantheon Ethereum Client using Java 8/11. Trent also directly handled customer discussions to elicit requirements for future features and introduced software development methodologies to ensure product maturity met customer expectations.

In May 2021, Trent left ConsenSys to join Octopus Deploy as a senior software engineer.

Trent Mohay attended Queensland University of Technology, where they studied engineering with a focus on aeronautical, mathematical, and software aspects of computing and electronics. After graduation, Trent became a Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance.

They work with Trish Khoo - Engineering Director, Christian Strzadala - Engineering Manager, and Andrew Harcourt - Engineering Manager. Trent Mohay reports to Michael Noonan, VP of Engineering.
