Michael Cottrell

Michael Cottrell is an experienced professional in the energy sector, currently serving as Group Director for Japan and Chief Product Officer at Octopus Energy Japan since September 2018. Michael has held various leadership roles within Octopus Energy, including Global Partnerships Director and Head of Strategic Finance. Prior to Octopus Energy, Michael worked at Repowering London as a Commercial Advisor and gained valuable experience at Oliver Wyman as an Engagement Manager and Senior Consultant. Earlier roles include Senior Business Analyst at EDF Energy and Consultant at IBM Global Business Services. Michael began his career as an Operations Coordinator at Cadillac Fairview. Michael holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Nottingham, obtained in 2006.
