Oktay Uzun

Oktay Uzun, PhD, serves as a Senior Scientist at Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. since December 2020. Prior to this role, Oktay held significant positions at esteemed institutions, including Harvard University from January 2012 to November 2020 as a Scientist on the Advanced Technology Team at the Wyss Institute, where leadership was provided for a program focused on shear activated drug delivery. Oktay's experience also includes contributions as a Senior Chemist at Dow Chemical from October 2008 to 2012, focusing on Li-ion battery electrolyte formulations and transdermal drug delivery innovations. Earlier roles include Postdoctoral Research Associate at MIT from September 2005 to September 2008, developing synthetic routes for nanoparticles and their biological applications, as well as Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from September 2000 to August 2005, concentrating on supramolecular chemistry. Oktay earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BS in Chemistry from Boğaziçi University.
