Patrick Brandão

Chief Research Officer (CRO) at Odin Vision

Patrick Brandão has a diverse work experience. Patrick started their career as a Freelance Programmer at Fiverr from July 2012 to August 2014. Later, they joined the University of Coimbra as a Research Engineer, where they developed software for automatically detecting traffic incidents using real-time security video streams. This research project was a collaboration with Brisa, the largest transport infrastructure company in Portugal. Patrick worked there from February 2015 to February 2016. Currently, Patrick is working at Odin Vision, first as a Senior Research Development Scientist from September 2019 to May 2022, and now as the Chief Research Officer (CRO) since May 2022.

Patrick Brandão completed their education in a chronological manner. Patrick obtained their Master's degree in Engenharia Biomédica/Médica from Universidade do Minho, which they attended from 2009 to 2014. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at UCL from 2016 to 2020. Alongside their formal education, Patrick also earned several additional certifications. In February 2016, they obtained an IELTS score of 7.5 from the British Council. Patrick completed the course "Image and video processing: From Mars to Hollywood with a stop at the hospital" at Duke University in March 2014. In January 2014, Patrick successfully completed the course "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python" offered by Coursera and Rice University. Furthermore, they completed the course "Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 2" at Stanford University through Coursera in November 2013. Additionally, Patrick obtained certifications in "Beginning Game Programming with C#" from the University of Colorado System through Coursera in November 2013 and "Learning From Data" (an introductory Machine Learning course) through edX in September 2013.
