Donna Derrick has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Starting in 1999, they worked as a Plant Cost Accountant at CPS Innovations until 2004. From 2004 to 2019, Donna owned and operated Derrick Properties, a full-service real estate firm in Knoxville, TN. During this time, they were responsible for training and managing staff, listing and selling residential homes, and coordinating with banks and title agencies. Additionally, Donna was a self-employed Premium Auditor and Forensic Accountant from 2004 to 2015. In 2015, they became the Controller at Speck Pumps-Pool Products Inc., where they served until 2022. In 2022, Donna worked as an Accounting Manager at Carlisle Interconnect Technologies until November. Starting in March 2023, they became the Assistant to the Finance Director at the City of Flagler Beach. Most recently, in July 2023, Donna was appointed as the Director of Finance at ODN.

Donna Derrick's education history includes studying Accounting and Business/Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
