ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis, & Simulation Center (VMASC)
Virginia Zamponi is a Simulation Developer and Graduate Research Assistant at the ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis, & Simulation Center (VMASC) since January 2022. In this role, Virginia designed and coded an agent-based model for the city of Norfolk, VA, focusing on health inequalities, and was part of a team that became a finalist in the 2022 Datathon. Virginia has prior experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Old Dominion University, where an independently developed MATLAB GUI enhanced lab activities, and as a Summer Intern at NATO M&S COE, contributing to software development for military simulations using Python and C++. Virginia holds a Master of Science degree in Modeling and Simulation Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University, along with two Associate of Science degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Tidewater Community College.
