Karsten Thierbach

Karsten Thierbach is a seasoned professional in protein therapeutics and biochemistry, currently serving as Senior Director of Protein Therapeutics at Odyssey Therapeutics since January 2022. Previously, Karsten held roles at Octapharma, including Head of Project Management and Group Manager in R&D Purification & Analytics III, where responsibilities encompassed downstream process development and analytical method development. Karsten also gained extensive research experience as a Senior Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech, focusing on protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and structural biology. Academic training includes a Ph.D. from Heidelberg University, where research centered on the Nup84 complex in yeast, and a Diplom in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Kiel University.
