Jose-Luis Alvarez

Jose-Luis Alvarez is an accomplished Project Manager currently employed at the OECD since August 2023. Prior to this role, Jose-Luis served as the Head of Policy and Advocacy at UNESCO MGIEP from July 2022 to August 2023. Jose-Luis's extensive experience at OECD spans over a decade, from March 2011 to June 2022, with positions including Project Manager and Lead Policy Analyst focusing on implementing education policies, as well as expertise in national skills strategy and vocational education and training. Additionally, Jose-Luis worked as a consultant for the Urban Development Programme. Jose-Luis holds a Ph.D. in Economic Sociology from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master's Degree in Regional Economic and Social Development from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
