Policy Analyst, Responsible Business Conduct

Sonja Ágústsdóttir is an accomplished policy analyst with extensive experience in responsible business conduct and development cooperation, currently serving at the OECD since August 2019. Key responsibilities include outreach and strategic coordination of partnerships with major public sector entities and overseeing the implementation of numerous reform support projects in collaboration with the European Commission. Previous roles include project officer for children’s rights at the Council of Europe, where initiatives focused on gender equality, and project manager for women’s rights with La Liane in Senegal, culminating in the successful launch of a women's rights center. Additional experience encompasses serving as deputy to the Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe for the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and positions within the Council of Europe and EFTA Surveillance Authority. Sonja Ágústsdóttir holds a Master of Laws in International Law, a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Gender Studies, and a Bachelor's Degree in Law, complemented by studies in French language and commercial education.
