Mikayla S. has a diverse work experience in the field of biopharmaceuticals and research. Mikayla started their career as a Research Intern at RTI International in May 2017, where they worked until January 2018. Mikayla then joined Duke University Center for WaSH-AID as a Research Intern from January 2018 to May 2019.

In August 2019, Mikayla joined KBI Biopharma as an In-Process Analytical Associate, a role they held until January 2021. Mikayla then worked as a Research Associate at KBI Biopharma from January 2021 to March 2022. In these positions, they applied biophysical and biochemical principles to develop and execute analytical test methods and assays for biopharmaceuticals. Mikayla also generated and interpreted GMP/non-GMP analytical data and produced high-quality documentation.

Currently, Mikayla is working as an Associate Scientist at Oerth Bio since April 2022. In this role, they specialize in performing affinity binding assays and assists in protein purification and SF9 insect cell culture work. Oerth Bio focuses on developing and assessing PROTAC technology for potential use in agriculture.
