Amir Abdi

Amir Abdi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Amir recently joined Microsoft in 2022 as a Principal Applied Scientist. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as the CTO of Offerland from 2019. Amir also worked at Borealis AI as a Senior Applied Scientist and Research Team Lead from 2020 to 2022. Before that, they were a Machine Learning Consultant at Citifyd from 2018 to 2019 and a Machine Learning PhD Intern at Google in 2018. Amir gained research and teaching experience as a Research and Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia from 2016 to 2018. In addition, they worked as a Dentist at Mehr Dental and Surgical Clinic from 2013 to 2015. Notably, they served as a Technical Committee member for the Virtual Robot Rescue Simulation league at the RoboCup Federation from 2011 to 2014, where they played a crucial role in planning the technical aspects of the league and contributing to the overall roadmap of RoboCup.

Amir Abdi's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Elec & Computer Engineering - Machine Learning from The University of British Columbia, a Master's degree in Computer Engineering - Artificial Intelligence from Sharif University of Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University. Additionally, Amir Abdi holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Amir has also obtained various certifications, including Raw Signal Group Management Training from Raw Signal Group in February 2022, and several certifications in machine learning and neural networks from deeplearning.ai in 2017. Amir also holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery certification from the Medical Council of Iran, obtained in October 2013.
