Vikas Dhawan

Vikas Dhawan has an extensive work experience in various roles related to data strategy, analysis, and research. Vikas is currently the Head of Data Strategy at the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). Prior to this, they worked as a Senior consultant - Data Insights from 2021 to 2023. From 2016 to 2021, Vikas served at Ofqual, where they held the positions of Associate Director, Data and Analytics, and Senior Manager, Statistics and Analytics. Vikas was responsible for leading the Data and Analytics team, collecting and analyzing data for educational qualifications in England, and building the team from scratch. Before joining Ofqual, they worked at Cambridge Assessment as a Research Psychometrician, where they developed business intelligence applications, conducted research and evaluation, and delivered training courses. Vikas also worked as a Consultant at The Psychometrics Centre-City University, London, where they conducted analysis and delivered teaching classes for post-graduate students.

Vikas Dhawan has a diverse education history. In 2020, they completed the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Prior to that, in 2004-2005, they pursued an MSc in Psychometrics in Organisations at City, University of London. In 1999-2002, they attained a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Punjab Technical University. Additionally, in 1996-1999, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from Punjabi University, specializing in Accounting and Business/Management. In terms of certifications, they have acquired various qualifications such as Data Strategy and Coaching and Mentoring from Udemy, SAS certifications from SAS Institute, Google Analytics from Google, PRINCE2® Practitioner from APMG-International, and Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing from The British Psychological Society.
