Alida Soileau

Alida Soileau is a Deputy State Public Defender at the Colorado State Public Defender since May 2023, with prior experience as an Associate at Otten Johnson, focusing on real estate and land use law. Alida has held various legal roles, including Research Assistant for Criminal Procedure and Teaching Assistant for Constitutional Law at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, as well as a Law Clerk at Steenrod Schwartz & McMinimee LLP, where probate proceedings were drafted. Alida's experience also includes legal externships in immigration law and labor & employment law, where significant research and writing contributions were made. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on International Studies and International Relations from Louisiana State University and Goucher College, respectively.
