Kevin Whitfield

Kevin Whitfield is a Deputy Public Defender in the Appellate Division at the Colorado State Public Defender, with prior roles as a Pre-Bar Deputy Public Defender in the same division. Kevin's legal experience includes serving as an Advanced Student Attorney and Student Attorney in the Civil Rights Clinic at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, where Kevin also worked as a Research Assistant. Kevin completed a legal externship with the COVID-19 Eviction Defense Project and a legal internship at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, focusing on Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. Kevin's early professional background includes work as a Phone Banker for the Opportunity City PAC and as an Outreach Coordinator for Allison Russo's campaign for State Representative. Kevin holds a Doctor of Law (JD) in Constitutional Rights and Remedies from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science from The George Washington University.
