Laura Rooney has a diverse work experience, starting in 2004 as an Ad Production Coordinator at New Track Media. Laura then worked as an AmeriCorps Member at Barnstable County AmeriCorps Cape Cod in 2006-2007. In 2007-2009, they served as a Marketing and Development VISTA and later as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader at Generations Incorporated. From 2009-2010, they worked as an AmeriCorps Programs Coordinator at Vermont Campus Compact. Laura then joined SeniorCare, Inc. as a Money Management Volunteer from 2011-2013. Concurrently, in 2012-2014, they pursued an MBA degree at Brandeis University. In 2013, Laura also worked as a Sillerman Center Strategic Planning & Operations Fellow at GreenLight Fund. From 2013 to the present, they held different roles at the Office of the Massachusetts State Treasurer and Receiver General, including Financial Education Intern, Operations Manager, and currently as the Director of Operations. Additionally, Laura has been the Artist/Owner of Soft as Rocks since 2010.
Laura Rooney completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art from Skidmore College between 2000 and 2004. Laura further pursued their education at Brandeis University from 2012 to 2013, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management.
