Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Ofgem

Alissa Wilson has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Ofgem since August 2020. Prior to that, they worked at The Woodland Trust, where they held the positions of Site Manager from March 2016 to August 2020 and Assistant Site Manager from October 2015 to February 2016. Their responsibilities in these roles included managing woodland landscapes, stakeholder engagement, contract management, volunteer management, and crisis management.

Before joining The Woodland Trust, Alissa worked at ATCO Electric as an Environmental Right-of-Way Planner from October 2012 to June 2015. Prior to their time at ATCO Electric, Alissa worked at the Nature Conservancy of Canada, where they held the positions of Conservation Coordinator from July 2010 to October 2012, Annual Gifts Coordinator from September 2009 to July 2010, and Shell Conservation Volunteers Intern from April 2009 to September 2009. Their responsibilities in these roles included land management, fundraising campaign development, organizing conferences, and planning and leading volunteer events.

Alissa also gained experience as an Education Assistant (Summer Student) at the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area in 2008, where they researched, planned, and conducted nature-themed summer day camps and led guided nature tours for school groups.

Their earliest work experience was as a Community Advisor at the University of Calgary from September 2005 to April 2008. In this role, they were responsible for the safety and well-being of university residence students, enforced university policies, and mentored students for academic success and healthy lifestyles.

Alissa Wilson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology from the University of Calgary from 2004 to 2009. In 2013, they obtained an M.Sc. in Integrated Resource Management from the University of Edinburgh, specializing in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences. Additionally, they received certifications in H2S Alive from Enform in May 2013, and Standard First Aid - Level C CPR and AED from St. John Ambulance Canada | Ambulance Saint-Jean in March 2013.
