Hiral Shah

Hiral Shah is a seasoned policy professional currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme at Ofgem since December 2018. Key responsibilities include leading policy development in collaboration with the Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), producing consultation and guidance documents, and assessing the audit and risk appetite for the scheme. Hiral Shah previously held roles at Ofgem as a Policy Manager and Assistant Policy Manager, focusing on initiatives related to renewable energy and energy efficiency. Earlier experience includes private tutoring, energy auditing with Bennetts Associates, and GIS consultancy for The Woodland Trust. Hiral Shah holds an MSc in Energy & Environmental Technology and Economics from City St George’s, University of London, and a BSc in Physical Geography from the University of Hertfordshire.
