Richard Bellingham has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Richard began their career at GSK in 1995, where they held various roles including Project Leader and Industrial PostDoc. In these positions, they showcased their expertise in managing chemical development projects and delivering drug substances for clinical trials.
In 2010, Bellingham joined Ofgem, where they spent the majority of their career. Richard held several leadership positions, starting as the Manager for RO Supplier Compliance before progressing to Manager for Renewables in Biomass, Waste, and Co-firing. In these roles, they collaborated with industry and government bodies to navigate regulatory changes and ensure compliance with renewable energy schemes.
Bellingham's experience in Ofgem also includes roles as a Senior Manager for Renewables and CHP, Head of Feed-in Tariffs, Head of RE Compliance, and Head of Compliance. In these positions, they oversaw teams and spearheaded initiatives related to compliance, audit functions, fraud prevention, and policy development.
Most recently, Bellingham worked at Heat Trust as the Head of Compliance and Audit, before returning to Ofgem as the Head of Heat Networks Implementation. Throughout their career, Bellingham has consistently demonstrated their ability to lead teams, make informed decisions, and adapt to evolving industry requirements.
Richard Bellingham has a strong educational background in chemistry. Richard began their academic journey at the University of Southampton, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from 1987 to 1990. Richard then pursued further studies at the same institution and completed their doctoral degree in Chemistry from 1990 to 1994. Following this, Bellingham joined UCL as a PostDoc in Chemistry and was involved in research and study from 1994 to 1995.
