Russell Ogilvie has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role being the Head of Enforcement at Ofgem, starting in April 2022. In this position, they lead a specialist Enforcement team that focuses on decarbonisation and innovation, ensuring that market participants are held accountable for their actions. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Compliance at Ofgem, overseeing compliance with various energy schemes and holding suppliers accountable for their obligations. Russell also had a significant role as the Senior Manager - Supplier Compliance, where they led the compliance function for licensed electricity suppliers. Before joining Ofgem, Russell worked as the Senior Manager - Renewable Generation Operations, overseeing operational teams responsible for delivering renewable generation schemes. Russell also held positions as an Audit and Compliance Manager and Counter Fraud Manager. Outside of Ofgem, Russell participated in the Career Ready programme as a mentor, providing guidance and support to secondary school students. Prior to their time at Ofgem and Career Ready, they worked at Next Retail Ltd as both a Merchandiser and Sales Manager.

Russell Ogilvie obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Law from the University of Strathclyde between 2007 and 2011. In 2015, they attended the University of Portsmouth to acquire a degree in Accredited Counter Fraud Technician, with a focus on Fraud.
