Walter Olum currently serves as General Manager & Regional Head HR for East Africa at ofi since April 2022. Previously, Walter held the position of Regional Head of HR for East Africa at Olam from February 2018 to July 2022 and was Human Resources Manager at LafargeHolcim from April 2015 to January 2018, contributing to overall HR leadership and being part of the Plant Leadership Team. Walter's career also includes experience as Leaf HR Business Partner at British American Tobacco Uganda, where responsibilities encompassed training, performance management, recruitment, and employee relations from October 2010 to December 2014. Additionally, Walter worked as an HR Advisor-Selection & Appraisal at Mukwano Industries U Ltd. and as an HR/Welfare Officer at Kakira Sugar Limited. Walter holds a Postgraduate Diploma in HRM from Uganda Management Institute and a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University.
