João Paulo Pesce has a diverse and extensive work experience. João Paulo started their career as an intern at the Free Software Laboratory, where they worked on implementing business intelligence solutions using Pentaho BI suite and Linux configuration/training. João Paulo then worked as a researcher at IIIT Delhi, focusing on privacy in social media and presenting their work at international conferences. João Paulo also worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge, where they developed a web game to crowdsource perceptions of cities.

Afterwards, they worked as a visiting researcher at Northeastern University, conducting research on user behavior in social networks. João Paulo presented their findings at conferences and at the Pinterest headquarters. João then joined the National Institute of Science and Technology for the Web as a researcher, publishing multiple papers and bridging the gap between computer science and humanities.

João later ventured into the field of data visualization as a Data Visualization Analyst at DCC/UFMG. João Paulo worked at the department of computer science and design, and published a paper on annotation processes for data visualization techniques.

In 2015, João became a co-founder and CTO of Social Tailor, a startup focused on creating made-to-measure shirts. João Paulo developed the technological aspects of the product, created an algorithm for shirt patterns, and established partnerships with sellers and a manufacturing factory.

Currently, João is the CTO and co-founder of Oficina, a premium clothing basics retail brand. João Paulo oversees technology, design, and digital sales, and has been focusing on technology and digital product development with the consolidation of the team.

Throughout their career, João Paulo Pesce has demonstrated a strong background in technology, design, and research, with a passion for bridging disciplines and creating innovative solutions.

João Paulo Pesce obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 2011. João Paulo then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the same institution, which they completed in 2014.
