Gary Berger has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. Gary started their career as an undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering Technology at Western Kentucky University. During this time, they gained practical experience through a cooperative education program with IBM in Lexington, KY.

After completing their undergraduate degree, Gary joined the American Printing House for the Blind as a Research Engineer. Gary worked on various projects focused on leveraging technology for the blind and handicapped community. Gary presented their findings and conclusions to the Royal National Institute for the Blind in London.

Gary then moved on to Carolina Cad Works, where they established a maintenance department and designed service programs for CAD platforms. Gary also worked briefly at Clemson University as a Graduate Student, where they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Engineering. During this time, they focused on various topics such as Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Image Processing.

Following their time at Clemson University, Gary joined Ryobi Power Tools as the Director of IT. Gary played a crucial role in the selection and implementation of SAP, along with process mapping, analysis, and project management.

Gary Berger obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Western Kentucky University, where they studied from 1980 to 1985. From 1976 to 1980, they served in the US Army, specializing in Power Generate Equipment Overhaul and Rebuild. Prior to that, they attended Findlay Senior High School between 1973 and 1976. In 1990, Gary pursued a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Clemson University, which they completed in 1993. Additionally, they received a Commission as 2Lt from Palmetto Military Academy's Officer's Candidate School in 1991. Gary also holds certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), obtained in 2021 and 2020, respectively.
