Judson Ward

Judson Ward has an extensive background in genetics and plant breeding. Judson is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Ohalo Genetics since 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Driscoll's from 2012 to 2019, holding various roles including Director of Next Generation Breeding, Principal Scientist in Molecular Genetics, and Senior Scientist in Molecular Genetics. During their time at Driscoll's, they led a team of scientists and specialists, conducted genetic diversity analysis, developed informatics pipelines, and analyzed large-scale sequencing data. Before joining Driscoll's, they conducted research at Cornell University as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on plant breeding and genetics. Additionally, they worked at Driscoll's as a Tissue Culture Laboratory Manager from 2004 to 2007, where they managed the production of micropropagation and conducted research to optimize tissue culture medium.

Judson Ward completed their Bachelor's Degree in Plant Sciences at the University of Arizona from 2000 to 2004. Judson then pursued further education at Cornell University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Breeding and Genetics from 2007 to 2012.
