James Gilland is a Senior Scientist and Research Team Manager at the Ohio Aerospace Institute, where expertise in advanced propulsion, power, communications, and microgravity research is leveraged to manage a diverse research team. Since joining Ohio Aerospace Institute in October 2000, James has contributed significantly to various projects. Additionally, James serves on the Technical Advisory Board at Phase Four and has experience as a Visiting Lecturer at Cleveland State University. Previous roles include Research Engineer positions at Sverdrup Technology and Aerojet Propulsion Research Institute, with a focus on electric propulsion systems and conceptual analysis for propulsion technologies. Academically, James holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
