Dr. Stephen P. Martin graduated with honors from the University of Dayton and from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University Hospitals of Cleveland / Case Western Reserve University. His Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh included a year of pancreaticobiliary endoscopy and pancreatic physiology training. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Dr. Martin served eight years as Assistant and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was active in clinical research and education of students, residents and fellows. During his tenure, he functioned as Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy and Director of the Pancreatic Disease Center. He has over forty peer review publications, reviews and book chapters to his credit and has provided invited lectures nationally and internationally on medical and endoscopic management of pancreatic diseases. Steve’s skills as he is involved in the medical leadership at Mercy Hospital Fairfield are highly respected and he has served as the President of the Medical Staff. Dr. Martin is facile in the performance of pancreaticobiliary and therapeutic endoscopy including endoscopic therapy of gastrointestinal bleeding, ERCP, sphincter of Oddi manometry, mechanical and laser lithotripsy of bile duct stones, pancreatic sphincterotomy and stenting, and endoscopic pancreatic pseudocyst drainage.
