Rubén León Ibarra has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2011, they worked at the Central Bank of Ecuador as a Mobile Payment specialist until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they served as a Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist at the Superintendency for Market Power Control. Rubén then became the National Coordinator for Competition Promotion at the same organization from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, Rubén joined the Superindency for Market Power Control as the Coordinator for Regions 1 & 4, a role they held until 2017. In 2018, they worked as a Tutor for Financial Management in the Public Sector and later as a Professor's Assistant for Economic Analysis and Modeling at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Summer Research Assistant, conducting policy analysis on technological unemployment in Spain. Currently, Rubén is working as a Project Officer at Oikocredit since March 2022.
Rubén León Ibarra holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, which they completed between 2004 and 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Online Business School from 2016 to 2017. Building on their educational background, Rubén further expanded their knowledge by completing a Master's degree in Public Policy at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt, specializing in Public Policies, between 2017 and 2019. In the same time frame, they also pursued another Master's degree in Public Policy, specifically in Politics Public, at Universität Erfurt.
