Virginia Ryals

Virginia Ryals is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in education, public works, and geographic information systems. Currently serving as a Public Works Technical Services Specialist for Okaloosa County since May 2018, Virginia also acts as a GIS & Technology Trainer and Southern Native History Consultant for Blue Turtle Consulting, where contributions have been ongoing since March 2006. Prior roles include internships and co-op positions in GIS with Columbus Water Works and Walton County Board of County Commissioners, as well as various educational positions across multiple school districts. Virginia holds a Master of Arts in History with a focus on Race and Ethnicity from Columbus State University, along with multiple certifications and continuing education credits in Geographic Information Science, Reading Teacher Education, and Art Across the Curriculum, among other subjects.
