Omar Pineda

Omar Pineda is a data analyst and database manager who currently works for OkCupid. Prior to their current position, Pineda worked for MindRight Health, where they developed NLP models for sentiment, emotion, topic, crisis detection, and coaching strategy recommendations. Pineda has also worked for Healthfirst, where they utilized R, Python, SQL and Tableau to conduct analyses, create visualizations and engineer dashboards that informed decisions to better the health of 1 in 8 New Yorkers.

Omar Pineda graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Asian Languages & Civilizations (Japanese) from Amherst College. Omar also studied abroad at Doshisha University through the Associated Kyoto Program, where they focused on Japanese Studies, Anthropology, and International Relations. Afterward, they completed a Master of Science in Data Science at The City University of New York. In addition, Omar Pineda is certified by Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Correlation One as a DS4A / Empowerment 1.0 Honors Certificate holder, and Harvard Business School in Business Analytics. Omar is also certified by The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services in Japanese Competency Exam N2, and by the California Department of Insurance as a Life, Accident, and Health Insurance Agent.
