Kyra Pope

Kyra Pope, SHRM-CP, has a diverse range of work experience in the field of HR. Kyra currently works as a People Partner at Burkland, where they lead people operations for multiple high-growth startups. Their responsibilities include benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, compliance, recruiting, and leadership coaching. Prior to Burkland, Kyra held various roles at Oklahoma City Human Resources Society, including President Elect and Executive Board Member, where they focused on membership retention and engagement. Kyra also served as an HR Manager at ELSR MANAGEMENT, L.L.C, where they provided counsel to all levels of leadership and implemented talent acquisition and employee engagement strategies. Kyra has experience as a Senior HR Support Specialist at Sodexo, where they assisted with HR operations for multiple hospitals, and as a Recruiting Coordinator at CACI International Inc. Kyra started their HR career as an HR Intern at Metrica, Inc., where they led compliance efforts and performed reference evaluations.

Kyra Pope, SHRM-CP, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Business from Texas A&M University, which they obtained from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Northeast Lakeview College between 2013 and 2017. In addition to their educational background, Kyra has obtained several certifications, including the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM in October 2021, the People Advisory Certification from Gusto in 2022, and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in 2021.
