Laila Wani

Laila Wani is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in sports communications and media relations. Currently serving as the Senior Basketball Communications Lead for the Oklahoma City Thunder since November 2016, Wani has previously held the role of Basketball Communications Coordinator with the organization. Prior experience includes a Communications Intern position at Miami Marlins, L.P., where responsibilities involved maintaining media files and assisting in the production of team publications. Wani also served as a Media Relations Assistant for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, contributing to fan engagement strategies and managing content for the conference website. An Athletic Communications Intern at the University of Oklahoma Athletics, Wani worked across multiple sports, writing content and assisting during events. Wani holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma, earned in 2014.
