Paula Sophia Schonauer

Paula Sophia Schonauer, LCSW, currently serves as the Director of Counseling Services at Oklahoma City University, a position held since August 2023. Previous experience includes a role as Faculty Instructor at the University of Oklahoma from August 2019 to December 2022, and as Therapist/Case Manager at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services from May 2018 to January 2022, within the Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center (PACT). Additionally, Paula has held adjunct professor positions at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City and Rose State College, alongside experience as an Outpatient Therapist at Northcare. Prior to the mental health field, Paula served as a Master Sergeant with the Oklahoma City Police Department for over two decades and as a Captain in the United States Army. Academically, Paula earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
