David Hughes is a Research Assistant Professor at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation since February 2023, previously serving in similar roles at the University of Iowa from August 2017 to January 2023, and as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Internal Medicine, focusing on muscle atrophy and aging. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Scholar position at UC Davis, investigating the impact of aging and disease on muscle strength and size, and an Academic Visitor role at Liverpool John Moores University within the Stem Cell, Ageing & Molecular Physiology unit. David Hughes began their academic journey as a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Bedfordshire, earning a Ph.D. in 2014 with research on testosterone-induced muscle hypertrophy, complemented by an MSc in Exercise Physiology and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
