James Hocker is an experienced meteorologist with a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. Since July 2011, James has served as the OK-First Program Manager at Oklahoma Mesonet, overseeing a meteorological outreach program that supports over 900 public safety officials through training and weather visualization tools. James has also contributed to education as an adjunct professor at the American Public University System from October 2011 to June 2017, teaching online meteorology courses to military personnel and professionals. Prior experience includes managing the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program from September 2008 to June 2011, which aimed to enhance stakeholder preparedness for climate hazards across several states, and working as a research associate at the University of Oklahoma's College of Atmospheric & Geographic Sciences.
