Nelson Thomas

Project Safety Manager, ASP at Okland Construction Company, Inc.

Nelson Thomas has a diverse work experience in the construction and inspection industry. Nelson started their career in 2002 as a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner at the City of Syracuse Utah. In 2004, they joined Ivy Code as a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner, where they handled inspections and plan examinations for various clients. In 2007, they worked at the Ogden City Business Development Division as a Building Inspector. During this time, they gained extensive experience in building inspections. In 2013, Nelson decided to start their own business and became the owner of Thomas Home Inspection, where they conducted home and building inspections. In 2014, they joined Okland Construction as a Project Safety Manager, focusing on ensuring safety measures on construction projects.

Nelson Thomas started their education at Arizona Western College from 1983 to 1985, where they studied Business Administration and Management. Later on, from 1996 to 2001, they attended Weber State University and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Manufacturing Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, Nelson obtained the following: Associate Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in December 2015, Construction Health and Safety Technician from the same institution in December 2015, First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor from the American Red Cross in November 2015, OSHA 500 from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in November 2013, and combination Building Inspector from the International Code Council in November 2011.
