Ian Mungai

Head of Community Development Programs at Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ian Mungai has extensive experience in community development programs. Ian started their career at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in 2015 as a Community Education Liaison Officer, where they were responsible for community engagement, fundraising, and managing donor relations. Ian then progressed to the role of Deputy Head of Community Programs, where they provided strategic direction for community development outreach work. In 2019, they became the Deputy Manager-Community Development Programs, leading all projects and resource mobilization efforts for the department. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Community Development Programs, where they oversee the management of projects and resources while also establishing and managing donor and partner relations. Prior to their work at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Ian worked as a Teacher and ICT Trainer at St. Peters Kandara Secondary School, where they trained teachers on implementing ICT in the classroom and mentored students in creative writing.

Ian Mungai pursued their education at the University of Nairobi from 2009 to 2013. During this period, they completed a Bachelor of Education degree, specializing in Literature.
