Whitney Wetzel

Whitney Wetzel currently serves as the Director of Communications for the West Virginia Department of Human Services since July 2023, following a role as Senior Communications Specialist at the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. In addition, Whitney is a Licensed REALTOR® with Old Colony Holding Company. Previous experience includes managing social media and email marketing at Orangetheory Fitness, where responsibilities involved creating content and developing strategies to enhance brand awareness. Whitney's background in journalism includes key positions as an anchor/reporter at Sinclair Broadcast Group, WKYT-TV, and Withers Broadcasting Companies, demonstrating significant expertise in broadcast journalism. Whitney holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from West Virginia University.
