Cecil E. Overbey is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Development at Old Dominion Freight Line. Cecil has been in the transportation industry for over 30 years. Cecil started their career as a dock worker for Johnson Motor Lines in 1978. Cecil then moved into office clerking for Manpower in 1980. In 1986, they became a field sales representative for TNT Pilot.

In 1987, Cecil joined Southeastern Freight Lines where they remained until 1995. It was during their time with Southeastern that Cecil developed their expertise in sales and marketing within the transportation industry. In 1995, Cecil left Southeastern to join Golden State Foods as their Purchasing Manager. Cecil remained with Golden State until 2006 when they joined Old Dominion Freight Line.

As Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, Cecil is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow Old Dominion’s market share. Under Cecil’s leadership, Old Dominion has seen significant growth and is now one of the largest transportation companies in the United States.

Cecil E. Overbey has a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University and a degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
