Blake Steiner is a Geospatial Developer-Analyst at Old Dominion University since August 2022, responsible for developing maps and web applications, supervising students, managing a fleet of sUAS, and providing GIS support. Previously, Blake worked as a Remote Sensing Scientist at the University of Arizona, coordinating scientific collaboration, implementing remote sensing systems, and securing funding for research. As a Research Fellow, Blake successfully obtained grants for a Master's thesis, conducted spatial data modeling, and enhanced educational resources for teaching carbon flux concepts. Additional experience includes roles at NASA as a GIS Analyst, USDA as a Hydrologic Technician, and Adkins Arboretum as a Conservation Technician. Blake holds a PhD in Ecology and has an extensive background in geospatial tools and data analysis, with a focus on applied research and educational outreach.
