Richard Gartelmann Jr., CFP®, has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Richard has held various roles throughout their career, starting from 1996 until the present.

From 1996 to 1997, Gartelmann worked as an Investment Executive and Personal Banker at Manufacturers Bank, where they organized and launched the investment services area of the bank. Richard also analyzed clients' financial status and recommended non-traditional bank products. Additionally, they had dual duties which included cross-selling commercial and retail bank products to corporate clients.

From 1997 to 2004, Gartelmann served as Vice President and Trust Investment Officer at Great Lakes Trust Company, managing the investment area of a $140 million trust department. Richard actively managed over 160 trust and investment agency accounts with over $60 million in assets, and generated $21 million in new business.

During the same period, from 1997 to 2004, they also worked at Great Lakes Bank as an Assistant Vice President and Investment Executive. In this role, they managed the brokerage department for the bank, conducted investment research for the trust department, and advised trust clients. Richard also analyzed and implemented financial plans for clients.

From 2004 to 2007, Gartelmann worked as a Portfolio Manager at FELDMAN SECURITIES GROUP L.L.C., where they were a member of a four-person portfolio management team. Richard outsourced investment management for over 90 trust departments nationwide with aggregate assets over $1.6 billion. Richard was the primary manager for 18 separate trust departments totaling over $400 million in assets.

From 2007 to 2010, Gartelmann served as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Park National Bank, managing the Investment Division within a $680 million Trust Department. Richard was responsible for discretionary management of portfolios that included revocable and irrevocable trusts, agencies, IRAs, pension plans, and charitable foundations. Richard also participated in joint calls with business development representatives.

From 2010 to 2011, Gartelmann worked as an Investment Advisor at Geneva Investment Management. Richard developed and implemented investment plans for clients based on their risk tolerance, liquidity needs, time horizon, and taxes. Richard also provided clients with comprehensive financial plans to help them meet their financial goals. Additionally, they worked with retirement plan sponsors to create investment policies, assisted in developing investment menus, and provided ongoing monitoring of investments.

Since 2011, Gartelmann has been working at Old Second National Bank. Richard started as a Senior Investment Officer, where they managed the Investment Division within a $950 million Trust Department. Richard was responsible for discretionary management of portfolios that included revocable and irrevocable trusts, agencies, IRAs, pension plans, and charitable foundations. Since April 2017, they have held the position of Executive Vice President, where they manage the Wealth Department consisting of approximately $1.5 billion in assets under management. The department provides investment management, fiduciary services, employee benefit plans, brokerage services, and financial planning.

Richard Gartelmann Jr., CFP®, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Finance from Governors State University - University in 1992. Richard then pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Planning from Saint Xavier University, which they completed between 2001 and 2003.
