Blaine Levedahl

Director of Programs at Olis Robotics

Blaine Levedahl has a wealth of experience in the aerospace and robotics industries. Blaine began their career in 2007 as a Control Design and Simulation Engineer at Honda Aircraft Company, where they developed a full nonlinear aircraft simulation model with flight controls, landing gear, ground reaction, and feedback models. Blaine also developed tools in Matlab and Simulink to simulate the nonlinear aircraft model in both open-loop and closed-loop modes, trim the nonlinear aircraft model, generate linear aircraft models for control law design, and perform structural mode interaction analysis of the Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) functions. In 2012, they took a position at Nagoya University as a Designated Associate Professor, teaching 6 classes per year and conducting research and advising students in collaboration with University laboratories. In 2015, they moved to Tethers Unlimited Inc. as Chief Scientist and In-Space Manufacturing Program Manager. In 2018, they began working at Insitu Inc. as a Senior Systems Architect and at Olis Robotics as Director of Programs, Director of Product Development, and Director of US Government Programs.

Blaine Levedahl obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Blaine then went on to receive a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering, both from North Carolina State University. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University.
