EMMANUEL NIONZIMA

Emmanuel Nionzima has a diverse work experience in the field of quality assurance and regulatory affairs. EMMANUEL started their career as an Assistant Laboratory Technician at Uganda Industrial Research Institute, where they provided technical assistance to a group of young entrepreneurs and conducted microbiological analysis of food products. EMMANUEL then worked as a Food Microbiologist at Fresh Cuts (u) ltd, where they analyzed food samples for various microbiological parameters and trained staff on hygiene and good manufacturing practices. EMMANUEL later became a Quality Controller at the same company, ensuring the safety and quality of food products, implementing HACCP plans, monitoring production processes, and conducting audits.

After that, Emmanuel worked as an Assistant Quality Assurance Manager at Agri Exim, where they revised the scope of the Quality Management System, collaborated with quality and production teams for BRC recertification, improved workflow processes, and validated critical control points and monitoring procedures.

EMMANUEL then joined BABYNOV as a Supplier Quality Engineer, responsible for managing the quality of raw materials and supplier processes. EMMANUEL updated specifications digitally, implemented risk evaluation procedures, and approved new suppliers. Emmanuel also played a key role in the project of implementing a software system for quality and supplier management.

Currently, Emmanuel is working as a Regulatory and Supplier Affairs Leader at OLVEA, where they are responsible for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Emmanuel Nionzima completed their Master's degree in Food Science at ISA Lille from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from Makerere University between 2013 and 2015. In terms of additional certifications, Emmanuel received the following:

- In August 2021, they became a Certified Functional Food Professional from the Functional Food Center/Functional Food Institute.

- In August 2021, they also obtained the CQI/IRCA ISO 22000:2018 Lead Auditor certification from Empowering Assurance Systems India.

- In February 2023, Emmanuel achieved the BRCGS Food Lead Auditor certification from SGS.

- In March 2023, they became a Power BI Specialist through LinkedIn.

- In May 2023, Emmanuel acquired the Nanomaterials in EU Legislation certification from EUACADEMY.
