Carlos Moreno Narrillos

Data Scientist at Olvin

Carlos Moreno Narrillos is a data scientist at Olvin. Carlos previously worked as an analyst engineer at ESTEYCO from October 2020 to April 2022, where they were responsible for the development of hydrodynamic modelling and coupled analysis for ESTEYCO's FOWT concept TELWIND, as well as frequency domain hydrodynamic analysis of TIM platform during different phases of operation for EMPIRE project FEED. In addition, Carlos also worked on the hydrodynamic and outline structural modelling of ESTEYCO prototype WHEEL, and was part of the R&D project LEAF (Liderazgo Español para el Avance de la eólica Flotante - "Spanish Leadership at Floating Wind Turbines Development"), founded by CDTI. Carlos also developed the intern tool EST-PANEL for computing hydrodynamic problem with pressure at panel level, allowing for fully hydro-structural coupling in well established FE solver Abaqus.

In terms of structural modelling, Carlos was responsible for the thermomechanical reconstruction algorithm for Diagnostic Shielding Modules (DSM) at ITER, as well as seismic simulation of Overhead CRAne on shacking Table (SOCRAT) benchmark: calibration of FE model and blind simulation of experimental inputs. Carlos also worked on high voltage Deck FE modelling for seismic simulation with ITER site pga validated against dynamic measurements of the mock-up built in Padova.

Carlos Moreno Narrillos received their MSc in Space Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and their MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Carlos also holds a Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and is certified by IELTS in C1.
