Maria ORourke has extensive work experience in the field of emergency medicine and ultrasound education. EMTEE - Maria is currently serving as the Interim Medical Director at Olympic Medical Center. Prior to this role, they worked as an Educational Consultant at FUJIFILM Sonosite, Inc. and as an Emergency Medicine Staff Physician at Sierra View Care Center. Additionally, Maria has worked as an Educator in Emergency Ultrasound at Sonowest/EMTEE and as a Core Faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center. EMTEE - Maria also served as a Major and Staff Physician in the United States Army, providing emergent trauma care and medical resuscitations during the Operation Iraqi Freedom. Maria's experience includes extensive use of trauma ultrasound and they have made valuable contributions in their various roles.
EMTEE - Maria ORourke completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Tufts University School of Medicine from 1994 to 1998. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Natural Science & Math from Dowling College from 1989 to 1991. EMTEE - Maria also engaged in Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC) in Army ROTC, Military Science and Operations from 1989 to 1991 at Hofstra University. In terms of certifications, Maria obtained a certification in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship Training from The Mount Sinai Hospital in 2009. EMTEE - Maria also holds a certification as an American Board of Emergency Medicine Diplomate, obtained in December 2004, from the AMERICAN COLLEGE OF EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS. Additionally, they obtained a certification from the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist/iTeachU from iTeachU Ltd in the year 2018.
