Brian Mellon

Brian Mellon M.S. is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a robust background in security operations and threat intelligence. Currently serving as the Manager of Cybersecurity Operations at Omaha Public Power District since August 2022, Brian has previously held positions including Lead Security Operations Engineer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Security Operations and Threat Intelligence Manager at the University of Nebraska. Additional roles span several years within the University of Nebraska system in various security analyst positions, as well as an IT Security Specialist role at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Brian holds a Master of Science degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, along with multiple other degrees in fields including Political Science and Information Technology. Prior experience includes roles in the hospitality industry and account management.
