Jeff Bishop

VP & CFO at Omaha Public Power District

Jeff Bishop joined OPPD in 2021 as the utility’s chief financial officer and vice president of Finance. He brings more than 20 years of experience in energy and consulting.

Bishop is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the financial affairs of OPPD, providing for the required financial resources, ensuring the financial soundness of the organization. He also oversees the corporate staff functions of resource planning, financial planning and analysis, treasury, financial operations, accounting, supply chain management, transportation fleet and energy marketing and trading.

Bishop comes to OPPD from Washington State, where he served as chief financial officer for the Grant County Public Utility District for four years. He was previously chief financial officer of GridLiance in Chicago, Illinois. Before joining GridLiance, Bishop served as chief financial officer of Seattle City Light for four years. His utility experience also includes eight years of service at PacifiCorp, an investor-owned utility headquartered in Portland, Oregon. He started his career in audit and assurance with Deloitte Touche LLP for both the Seattle and San Diego offices.

Bishop is a licensed certified public accountant. He serves as treasurer for the Large Public Power Council and is a member of the Chief Financial Officer committee. He holds a bachelor of arts in business administration from Washington State University, with an accounting concentration, as well as a bachelor of science in zoology from the University of Washington.
