Karisa Vlasek

Karisa Vlasek is an accomplished Grant Specialist at Omaha Public Power District since July 2008, recently promoted in April 2024. In this role, Karisa leads efforts to secure grant funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. Prior to this position, Karisa held various roles at Omaha Public Power District, including Coordinator for Grants and Stakeholder Outreach and Grant and Minibond Administrator, focusing on grant sourcing, proposal development, and reporting. Karisa also served as a Board Member and Member of the Grant Professionals Association and worked in research and outreach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Earlier experience includes a Traffic Accident Researcher role for the US Department of Transportation and a Graduate Research Assistantship at the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Aviation Institute. Karisa holds an M.P.A. in Public Administration and Aviation Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
