Dr.nitin Barekere

Dr. Nitin Barekere has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Dr.Nitin started their career in 1997 as an HR Leader at Air Deccan, Sykes Inc., LC, where they specialized in manpower planning, recruitment, and employer branding. Dr.Nitin then joined SPAR International as the General Manager of Human Resources, where they led HR strategy and operations for multiple hypermarkets. Dr. Barekere further expanded their expertise at Walmart as the Regional Head of People, overseeing human capital across different locations and initiating change management programs. Dr.Nitin later served as the Group Head of Human Resources at Narayana Health, responsible for HR engagement and learning across a large healthcare organization. At AMRI Hospitals, they held the position of Chief People Officer and led strategic HR initiatives aimed at talent optimization and cost reduction. Dr. Barekere also contributed to the growth of Emirates Hospitals Group as a Consulting VP of HR, focusing on HR solutions and restructuring. Most recently, they joined The Better India as the Consulting Head of People and Culture, where they built HR capabilities, explored revenue growth channels, and supported diversification initiatives. Currently, Dr. Nitin Barekere holds the role of Vice President of Global HR at Omega Healthcare Management Services.

Dr. Nitin Barekere completed their education with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University in 1999. Dr.Nitin then pursued a program in Business Administration and Management at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in 2009. In 2012, they obtained a Master of Social Work degree in Organizational Behavior from Calorx Teachers' University. Later, in 2015, they completed an Executive Master of Business Administration program with a focus on Leadership at Apex Professional University. Most recently, Dr. Nitin Barekere obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Strategic HRM from LIUTEBM University in 2020.
