Shariful Islam has a wide range of experience in HR and management roles. Shariful is currently the Head of Human Resources at Omera Petroleum Limited since March 2023. Previously, they worked as the Plant HR Manager/Plant HR Head at Coats from January 2022 to March 2023. Before that, they were the Manager- HR/Head of HR at LAUGFS Gas from February 2015 to December 2021, where they led HR matters of the entire business and managed recruitment and orientation. From September 2012 to January 2015, Shariful served as the Manager & Head of HR & Compliance at Polar Ice Cream, where they formulated HR policies and prepared HR plans. Prior to that, they held the position of Dy Manager- HR & Compliance at Apex Adelchi Footwear Limited from April 2006 to August 2012, overseeing HR policies and compliance for a large workforce. Shariful started their career as an Executive, HR & Admin at Asset Developments & Holdings Ltd. from July 2003 to December 2005, handling day-to-day HR and administrative activities.

Shariful Islam completed their primary and secondary education at Rajshahi Cadet College from 1988 to 1994, where they obtained their SSC (Secondary School Certificate) and HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) in the field of General Science.

Shariful then pursued their bachelor's degree at Dhaka University from 1996 to 2003, majoring in Physics and earning a B.S.C.

In 2007, Shariful enrolled at BIMS (Bangladesh Institute of Management Studies) and completed a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) in 2008.

Lastly, from 2017 to 2020, they attended East West University, where they obtained their MBA with a specialization in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General.

Omera Petroleum Limited

Omera Petroleum Limited (OPL), a subsidiary of MJL Bangladesh Limited, has launched Omera LP Gas in Bangladesh considering the growing demand of customers. OPL has started LPG venture in Bangladesh with the utmost commitment to convenience, availability, functionality and safety. To ensure uninterrupted distribution throughout the country, OPL has made robust investments in European standard bottling and storage facilities in Mongla which is the mother terminal. The company also has three satellite plants located in Ghorashal, Bogra and Mirasharai with a consolidated capacity of 300,000 metric tons per year to cater to the needs of the consumers. OPL has a competitive edge in addressing the growing demand as it has the largest bottling and storage complex in Bangladesh. OPL is the first LPG operator in the country to use inland waterways to carry LPG efficiently. It has significantly invested in building a LPG-carrying Barges named ‘Omera Princess’, 'Omera King' and Omera Glory' based on Japanese Navigation & Communication Devices and European Technology. The Barge fleet has created a revolution in the industry because of the consolidated capacity to move 1050 MT of LPG at a time. Omera LPG is available in five different SKUs with the size of 5.5 kg, 12 kg, 25 kg, 35 kg and 45 kg, which are available in two different colors of Glossy Lemon-Yellow (22 mm) and Glossy Window-Grey (20 mm). Moreover, Omera Priority offers 425 kg for the industrial users.
